Dark Light
Up to now, we’ve never imaged Airy-0, a crater within Airy Crater that formerly was used to define zero longitude on Mars.

That definition is now based on Viking Lander 1, but we wanted to image Airy-0 for cartographic interest. It was named in honor of the British Astronomer Royal Sir George Biddell Airy (1801–1892).

Also visible in a Context Camera image, our high resolution picture shows layers exposed where the crater ejecta has been eroded.
